I accept self-referrals, referrals from professionals, and referrals from third-party organisations (e.g. solicitors, employers and insurance companies). If you are unsure about any aspect of referral, please do not hesitate do get in touch. I will do my utmost to be flexible and ensure that the process is as smooth and quick as possible.
Please note that from time to time I may recommend a medical appointment (e.g. with your GP or a particular specialist) to rule out any potential underlying physical complications. This is to ensure that the work we are undertaking is appropriate, necessary and ethical; and to avoid any potential medical problems being missed.
Self-Referral
Please contact me directly to discuss your needs. You may wish to speak with your General Practitioner (GP) in the first instance about any difficulties you are experiencing. They are generally able to refer within the NHS for up to six sessions of talking therapy for people with mild-moderate difficulties; whilst those with more serious difficulties may receive input from their local secondary care mental health services. Waiting times however can be highly variable.
Please be aware that clients who refer themselves to me directly are generally unable to access third-party funding.
Professional Referral
I accept referrals from all professional groups (including GPs, Psychiatrists, Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Neurologists and Complimentary Therapists). You may wish to speak with your professional if you feel that a referral to a Clinical Psychologist would be beneficial.
If you are a professional of any background who would appreciate guidance, please contact me to discuss. I am always keen to develop my professional network, as I believe it is in the interests of my clients if I have a range of expert referral routes available.
Third-party referral
I happy to work with all organisations (including health insurance companies, solicitors and employers) who are able to meet my terms and conditions, and my standard fees. Please be aware that most health insurers require a specific referral from either a GP or Psychiatrist. Please check with your organisation for further details.
If you are a health insurer, a solicitor, an EAP (employee assistance programme), a private employer, or another organisation who would like to add me to their database or rota of available Psychologists, then please contact me directly.
